On the 17.11.16 IDA was invited to the Marwa El-Sherbini-culture and education center (MKEZ), to learn about islam. Dr. Muhammed-Ronald Wellenreuther, who converted to islam over 20 years ago, spoke about the history and origins of islam and muslim live in the present time. Our Buddy-Programme is entering its next round! Last semester we matched up over 60 refugees and students, now er're hoping for a successful follow up. As a Buddy you are helping a refugee to get started in Dresden. Whether it is outdoor activities, sports or teaching each others language: it´s up to you.

On wednesday, 19.10.16, our arabic course started. Over 20 people attended the introductory class that was accompanied by humus, flatbread and arabic sweets. Mahmoud and Amr, who are teaching the class this semester, could already give some insights into the origins of the arabic languages as well as teach first words and phrases for the everyday use. We are looking forward to the upcoming weeks with all of you!
On Tuesday our Info-Meeting took place. We were really excited about the numerous attendance and are looking forward to working on various projects with you. All in all we gained 50 more German-teachers and could get people interested for our Buddy-Programme and arabic coruse.
